Fix error 501 while installing Creative Cloud apps on Windows 11/10
If you keep getting error code 501 when installing or updating Adobe apps on Creative Cloud on Windows, you can use the below steps to fix the error:
First, close the Creative Cloud app completely using Task Manager.
Now, press Win+E to open the File Explorer and navigate to the following location:
C:\Program Files
After that, locate the Adobe folder in the above location, select this folder, and press the Delete button on your keyboard to delete it.
Next, open the Common Files folder in the Program Files directory and delete the Adobe folder from this location.
Once done, go to the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)
Next, delete the Adobe folder and Common Files > Adobe folder from the above location.
After that, press Win+R to open the Run command box and enter %AppData% in its Open box.
In the displayed location, delete the Adobe folder.
Now, enter %LocalAppData% in Run and clear the Adobe folder in the opened location. Similarly, enter %localappdata%low in the Run command box and delete the Adobe folder.
Once done, you need to clear Adobe registry entries. To do that, follow the below steps:
First, open Run and enter regedit in it to open Registry Editor.
Now, move to the following location:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
Next, select the Adobe key from the left-side pane and delete it.
After that, navigate to the following address:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Now, delete the Adobe key from the above location.
Once done, restart your PC and check if you can install Adobe apps without error code 501.
